Bio

Malath has over 5-years’ experience in child-centred programs gained through first-hand practical experience in program work that spans beyond the country’s jurisdiction.

Similarly, the experience has enabled her to acquire excellent and in-depth knowledge on the identification and development of community interventions that respond to the overall well-being of vulnerable populations including children (in both schools and community), youth, and women. Moreover, her work experience in child-centric humanitarian program work has enabled her to gain noteworthy experience in advocacy, communication, fieldwork, monitoring and evaluation, budgeting, proposal writing, and project planning/management among other areas.

She is currently pursuing her MA in Development Studies from the University of Nairobi. She also holds a BA in Sociology and Economics (Double Major) from the same institution. Her program interests where she stands out are; child protection, youth and women empowerment, and community development. It is her exemplary work in this field that saw her represent Kenya’s CSO forum at the 72 UN General Assembly on Combating Human Trafficking in New York in 2017. She is also an active member of the Rotary e-club Safari Kenya.
