Jonan Twinamatsiko

Jonan is a biotechnologist, science writer, youth leader and Founder of the Youth for Science and
Development- East Africa. He is a 2018 Cornell University Alliance for Science Global Leadership Fellow.
He is the Science Policy and Communications Officer at the Science Foundation for Livelihoods and
Development (SCIFODE). He is an entrepreneur and Head of Communication and Partnerships at m-
Omulimisa Ag-Tech Company Limited. He has championed science and technology advancement for
food security and environmental sustainability, locally, and at a global scale. He contributed to the
formulation of the East African Community Science, Technology and Innovations Policy where he
advocated for youth prioritization in science policy.

He has been a panel discussant at a World Bank Forum held at the headquarters in Washington Dc on the topic; Ensuring Access to Agricultural Innovation in Africa: African Perspectives. He has severally addressed policy makers and key stakeholders like Members of Parliament on the Biotechnology and Bio-safety topic and presented at
national and international conferences.
