Roger Akatwihayo

Rogers Akatwihayo Butamanya is a serving officer of Uganda Peoples Defense Forces at the rank of Captain. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, and currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Business Administration through a long distance learning program with South Wales University, London supported by UNICAF. He is currently deployed at the National Secretariat for the National Identification & Registration Authority as a technical officer in the ICT department.

Rogers is also an entrepreneur and a social actor. He has co-founded several social entrepreneurship initiatives and businesses, including Elyt Magazine a fashion and life style magazine, Tu-ungane Foundation which equips youth with personal development skills, leadership skills and entrepreneurship.

In 2017, he Co-founded Decoy Services, a Security oriented business with the purpose of training and professionalizing bouncers , (private security guards), and deploying them on request from various clients. The company also offers self-defense classes to interested parties.

At the start of 2018, he co-founded Lobrim/Tu-unganeKonnect a Tours and Travel company with the main focus of providing clients with services in travel ticketing, safari tours, hotel bookings and transportation. He is passionate about meeting new people that he can learn from and can make a positive impact to his life and then he can pass on that positive impact to other people.
