Theme: Journeys Back Home: Leadership Reflections on Our Heritages of Birth

The seminar “Journeys Back Home: Leadership Reflections on Our Heritages of Birth” hosted by LéO Africa Institute Founder & Senior Director Awel Uwihanganye and Dr. Prosper Ahimbisibwe (YELP Fellow Class of 2018) will explore the complex relationship between culture, identity, and leadership in Africa.

The seminar will examine how Africa’s history of slavery, colonialism, and Western dominance has shaped its current cultural landscape. Participants will also discuss how Africa can define itself in the 21st century and position itself as a leader in the global economy.
